Mike has been a musician (drummer and guitarist) for over 35 years. While exhibiting a preference for jazz, he plays all types of music, especially improvised music of any kind. Mike has toured and recorded extensively with numerous bands in rock, metal, and jazz settings. Mike is also proud to be an endorser of Precision Drum Company, and has played Precision drums since 1995. He has studied with a number of well known drummers, notably Samir Chatterjee on tabla. Mike has been teaching since 1988, and specializes in teaching a traditional method, while blending in a more modern approach to integrate jazz, rudimentary studies and rock.

Mike also enjoys collecting drums and cymbals--including his beautiful Precision Drum Company kits, an early 1960's Round Badge Gretsch kit, and old K Zildjians.

He is currently forming a jazz quintet, and also plays in the Christian band, "Approaching Storm."
